I was taking some time off in the Czech Republic when I stumbled across this beautiful collection of stationary internal combustion engines in the main square of a small town called Telč. They were parked in the rear corridor of Gallery Wimmer where the owner was kind enough to allow me to take some photographs. I've done a token amount of research on some of these engines, however, if you have any information on them, it would be much appreciated so I may better inform others of their story.
![]() Above: A Benz & Spol Stationary Engine. This engine is a Czech engine and the brass plate reads "TOVARNA MOTORŮ L.BENZ & SPOL KS 4-5 TŘEBÍČ ČÍS 5214". ![]() Above: I don't know much about this stationary engine, but I can tell you that the yellow lettering reads "MOTOR PLUTO". Unfortunately the photograph wasn't clear enough to be able to make out the words on the plate. Above: An unknown stationary combustion engine. ![]() Above: A beautifully restored stationary combustion engine of unknown make. Love the colours! ![]() Above: An unknown, but compact stationary combustion engine. The lettering reads "ORIGINAL SLAVIA DIESEL". ![]() Above: A J.G. Lorenz - Kroměříž prior to restoration. (Another Czech engine) ![]() Above: Unknown stationary combustion engine. It's a shame I didn't get a photo of the brass plate with the writing on it! ![]() Above: A restored J.G. Lorenz - Kroměříž, this time, post restoration. Also this time the whole plate is legible and reads "TOVÁRNA NA MOTOR, J.G. Lorenz, Kroměříž, Morava". As stated earlier this is a Czech make. ![]() Above: Another nice restoration and another unknown engine! ![]() Above: A beautiful stationary combustion engine of unknown make. |
